Jill Budimir

PREVENTION EDUCATION CURRICULUM DEVELOPER

Jill is an educator with over ten years of teaching experience outside of Washington, D.C. in northern Virginia. She also has a background in mental health with her Masters in Clinical Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. She has taught and provided counseling in numerous contexts, both in the United States and overseas in Europe. From her work as an educator and counselor, she continues to strive to have a global perspective and facilitate that development in others.

Throughout the past two decades, Jill's awareness of human trafficking grew through her connection with Freedom 4/24, as well as from teaching prevention curriculum in public schools. She believes that prevention education is key to raising awareness and helping to end sexual exploitation around the world. Jill is passionate about the prevention education curriculum development project through Freedom 4/24 and has a key role in developing a trauma-informed, evidence-based curriculum for various ages and audiences.

Jill and her husband Hrvoje are presently back in Croatia working with an IB International School with their two children (14 and 12). There, Jill is also researching and developing a human-trafficking prevention curriculum with Freedom 4/24. In their free time, they enjoy cooking, hiking, and spending time by the sea.
