Emily was born and raised in Lynchburg, VA. After graduating high school, she studied at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida for one year. The following year, she traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina for a bilingual-Bible program with Word of Life with the plan to become an overseas missionary. It was in Argentina that Emily gained a passion for anti-trafficking work. In December 2014, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute.
Emily's passion for working with victims and survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking deepened during her time as a volunteer victim advocate with the Sexual Assault Response Program in Lynchburg. In the summer of 2014, Emily joined the Freedom 4/24 team as a volunteer intern. She came on staff as an administrative assistant in October 2014.
Emily and a team of Freedom 4/24 staff and volunteers traveled to India in April 2016 to work with young girls who had been rescued out of sex trafficking. Through this trip, Emily saw first-hand the lasting impact that Freedom 4/24 supporters have in the lives of victims and survivors.
