Freedom 4/24

In a quick recap the Run for Their Lives walk / run has been a huge success in its two years of existence.   This success is due to the people that decided to bring awareness and support to Freedom 4/24 by giving up a Saturday to run or walk a 5k, 10k, or the kids 1k.  People who believe that sexual slavery is worth fighting against and that each thing that is done to fight this battle has an effect, it has meaning.

These are people who believe that Freedom Begins with a Day!

Coming off of two events, Frocks for Freedom / Girls Night Out, and Father Daughter Date Night, the excitement for this year is building quickly and expected to only continue!  That momentum continues to build with the opportunity for family and friends to register and run a 5k with us all across the States, and even all across the world!   Tell them about the race, let them experience what we experience.  Simply ask them to run or walk in whatever state they are in.  Even miles apart we can be unified together on October 29th to run for them, run for freedom, run for their lives!

Though this industry is one of the largest in the world it is still not well known or thought of.  That is why this race exists, to raise support and awareness of the issue, an issue that is uncomfortable and awkward when brought up.  This is a way to bring awareness, raise support, and start conversations that may not happen without a spark.  This is a way to love those who we cannot touch physically, a way to give the opportunity of freedom for a day and ultimately freedom for a lifetime in Christ.

Tell us what and where you are walking or running!

This event, being held at Robin Alexander Bistro tonight (oct. 27th) is going to be an incredible time!  There will be so much to do together and so much to participate in . . . it will be great for time enjoying each other.

The goal is beyond that though, beyond intimacy and interaction.  This is a time for fathers to show their daughters love, but also that they love the world, the people in the world with a Christ like sacrificial love.

Leading through this love and example to let your daughter know she will be cared for and with her you will care for others, together with her you will battle sexual slavery so that others can have the freedom that you will be enjoying together.

So come tonight, play the games, eat great food, enjoy time with each other, and then, spend time talking and praying about how you can, together, be a part of this battle.

Freedom begins with a day and for fathers and daughters that could this day!

October 29th.  That will be only 38 days from when this posts.  With Frocks for Freedom happening this week and Father Daughter Date Night coming up next week excitement continues to grow for this year!  We are also adding new states all the time towards our goal of runners/walkers in all 50 states.

The 50 states goal is outrageous in only the third year of this race, however the Run for Their Lives team believes in the calling, as well as the results!  Runners and walkers participating in the event on the 29th from their state is going to be incredible!

The goal specifically is to have someone or group, having registered on the website www.R4TL.com being a party all over the country.  In some states that will look like the race like in Lynchburg, VA.  In some it will be a smaller event with tens or hundreds, and in some it may be simply 1 or 2 participants in a 5k that they have chosen but all will be crucial in the goal!

Recently there was a statistics released about the amount of money going into the sexual exploitation market around the world.  See the stat here.  It took several moments of contemplation to truly grasp what was happening, what this data was saying.  When it comes to rest in the thoughts that trail in and out so quickly the reality is simple:  Our battle is among the biggest, but our fight seems so much more difficult!

With drugs and arms we hear about all the time, we have loved ones affected, it hits close to home, and it is not an awkward conversation over the dinner table.  When someone mentions sexual human trafficking rooms usually get quiet, filled with awkwardness and tension.  Everyone is always against it, it is simply more difficult to talk about.

But we have to talk about it, we have to spread the word and create awareness about the 3rd largest illegal money maker in the world.  This is why we sell merchandise and put on Run for Their Lives and other events each year, to start the conversations, to bring this travesty to the forefront.

Freedom begins with a day!

We long to give the victims of the sexual slave trade freedom, freedom for a day, freedom for a lifetime, but we want so much more than that.  We are driven by seeing the pain caused by the sinfulness of humankind, but by so much more.  Freedom for a lifetime is only the beginning!

Through everything that we do along with our partners the undertones is that of revealing the love, grace, and tenderness of our Savior Jesus Christ.   Without this we would fight because each lifetime is important and we love and care for those who are suffering but with the knowledge that these victims are all created in the image of Christ multiplies our efforts exponentially.

We long that every person that comes in contact with us and our partners see Christ and grasp the depth of His love, because in this is the only true freedom.  Freedom through Christ for eternity.

Several weeks ago at Brentwood Church in Lynchburg, VA the Gospel, the truth of the message of Christ was as clearly and simply proclaimed as I have ever seen and in the side of the service that I was sitting in I witnessed 3 individuals profess with their hands their acceptance of His grace and forgiveness alone!

This is the truth, this is the reason we exist!  To bring glory to His name through the means that He places in our paths and this is the goal that we take to each partner.  Your merchandise and donations go to more than just freedom for a day and the opportunity for freedom for a lifetime.  They go so that you, through us, can express the gospel and show that freedom through Christ is for eternity!

We love closing down the bars and giving the slaves a night of freedom, we adore when that night turns into a lifetime of freedom, and we weep with tears of joy when an individual with a personality has been rescued from these depths and experiences and sees the freedom that no other can give, freedom for eternity.
